Buyers must first be UAE residents. Next, you need to check on the Dubai Police Website for any unpaid tickets for traffic violations. All pending dues must be cleared. This is to be done without any delay. Lastly, the papers in a file, including Registration Certificate (or RC book/card), updated Insurance, Hyphothecation letter or clearance certificate, pollution certification and your bank statements.
The following documents are mandatory for the transfer. So also they are most essential to initiate the proceedings.
- Original copies of your passport
- Dubai driving licenses
- Insurance, although in some cases the old policy can be transferred
- All bank documents
“No Objection Certificate” if the car is financed through the bank thus allowing the transfer of car ownership
- Old registration card (test at the traffic department in case it has expired)
- Original license plates

- Fill in the form and pay the required fee amount
(The seller of the car may have to pay any outstanding fees.)
- Put up the new plates on your car.
Finally, mail a copy of the registration card to your finance and insurance company.
